New Today: Time to Churn, Unresolved/At Risk Payments and Changes

Busy morning here at Baremetrics International National Regional Local City Worldwide Headquarters. Got a few tasty treats for your enjoyment! We’ve just pushed live a few features and tools to help with churn as well as a page to help you stay on top of all the things we’re constantly adding to Baremetrics.

Time to Churn

We get asked quite a bit how the User Churn percentage translates to an actual timeframe. In other words, given your current churn rate, how long would the average person stay a customer.

The way to calculate it is relatively simple (100 / Churn % = # of months), but no reason to make you do the maths in your head! So, we’ve added a bit that tells you that time frame.

Unresolved + At Risk Payments

Our Failed Charges page has always showed a listing of failed payments. But we’ve expanded that now by adding 3 things:

  1. Total amount Unresolved payments. These are payments you have missed out on unless you collect on them.
  2. Listing of At Risk payments. These are people who’s cards are expiring in the next month. These will fail unless they update their billing.
  3. Total amount of At Risk payments. Same as the Unresolved total, this shows you the amount you stand to miss out on if these payments fail.

Most of these will be easy “wins” that help keep you from losing that precious recurring revenue!

Changes

We ship small changes/tweaks/updates quite frequently. Most days we actually deploy multiple times. But many of those things aren’t worth a blog post or email about but you’d still like to see all the changes that have been made.

You can now view our Changes page and see a dated list of the things worth mentioning!

You can find it in the new “Changes” nav item. A small red dot will show whenever there are new items that you haven’t seen yet.

Enjoy!

Josh Pigford

Josh is most famous as the founder of Baremetrics. However, long before Baremetrics and until today, Josh has been a maker, builder, and entrepreneur. His career set off in 2003 building a pair of link directories, ReallyDumbStuff and ReallyFunArcade. Before he sold those for profits, he had already started his next set of projects. As a design major, he began consulting on web design projects. That company eventually morphed into Sabotage Media, which has been the shell company for many of his projects since. Some of his biggest projects before Baremetrics were TrackThePack, Deck Foundry, PopSurvey, and Temper. The pain points he experienced as PopSurvey and Temper took off were the reason he created Baremetrics. Currently, he's dedicated to Maybe, the OS for your personal finances.
